Homeopathy and the Treatment of Strokes

I am now also working alongside Charles Dean, at The Stroke Centre, in Blackburn, Lancashire, who is a neurophysiotherapist, a craniosacral and ERT therapist. Together we offer an integrated package for the treatment of those unfortunate to have suffered a stroke. We believe that our combined skills and professional tools can enhance and compliment each other for the benefit of clients to bring awareness and gentle recovery.stroke-web-piture.jpg

Conventional medicine conditions us to believe that the symptoms of cerebrovascular accident (CVA ), better known as “stroke” are alike or common in all people. Paralysis, weakness and defective or absent speech (aphasia) are examples. Homeopathy, however, helps us understand that the symptom picture in any disease is unique to the individual and during the course of your treatment your symptoms will be observed very carefully and a remedy will be given to ‘match’ your own unique set of symptoms.

As devastating and frightening as a stroke may be, from a homeopathic perspective the symptoms actually represent the attempt of a person’s “vital force,” or guiding energy, to correct the imbalance which has resulted in the state. Observing and following the individual symptom picture will lead the homeopath to prescribe the remedy most “similar” to the CVA. The patient could then be on the way to recovery from the energetic imbalance in a shorter time than if treated by conventional methods only.

There are many remedies that can be used to address stroke symptoms, each portraying a particular mental, emotional and physical profile and all of these areas will be carefully explored during the consultation and taken into account when the remedy is selected.

Homeopathy is a safe and gentle way to treat people after a stroke. As well as being non-toxic Homeopathy can also be used alongside conventional medicine, which is of benefit to those people who may be prescribed essential, long- term drugs.

Other remedies such as flower essences and colour remedies may also be useful to aid the effectiveness of Homeopathic remedies and may be prescribed during your treatment.

Herbs and supplements can also be of benefit but precautions need to be taken using these when people are taking allopathic or conventional medication.
